Wiesbaden's Legendary Stork Cam Returns for a New Season of Nesting Drama
The popular stork cam in Wiesbaden-Schierstein is live again for the new season. Nature lovers can now watch the birds' daily activities online, from nest-building to raising their young. The feed is available on the city's official website at wiesbaden.de/storchenkamera. The webcam has been broadcasting since 2003, making it over 23 years old as of March 2026. Over time, it has captured key moments, such as the hatching of three chicks in 2024. In spring 2025, the stork pair Klaus and Angelika returned to the nest after their winter migration.
The project began with funding from the RheinMain Regional Park. Today, operations are supported by Wiesbaden's Smart City programme. A partnership between the city's urban planning office and the Stork Association keeps the camera running smoothly. Viewers get a close-up look at the storks' behaviour throughout the breeding season. The live stream tracks everything from nest repairs to the first flights of fledglings.
The camera provides a rare glimpse into the lives of these migratory birds. With stable funding and long-term support, the project will continue offering real-time updates on the storks' progress. Anyone interested can follow along via the city's dedicated web page.
