Wiesbaden's 'Industry in the City' fair bridges jobs and shopping this September
Wiesbaden's 'Industry in the City' career fair is returning for its third edition this September. The event, powered by Eventbrite and promoted on Indeed, will connect skilled workers, young professionals, and students with local industrial companies. Organisers aim to turn the city centre into a career advice hub where people usually shop.
The fair runs from Monday, September 21, to Saturday, September 26, 2026. During the week, students from grade 9 upwards will visit between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. to explore apprenticeships and career options. On Saturday, the event opens to the wider public, focusing on jobseekers and those interested in the industrial sector.
Companies will set up booths in the heart of Wiesbaden to engage directly with visitors. The initiative is part of WI WORK LIFE Industrie, a campaign to promote the region's industrial strength and retain local talent. Birgit Knetsch, from the Department of Economic Development and Employment, stressed that 15 to 20 committed businesses are needed to make the format work.
Businesses have until Wednesday, March 18, 2026, to register for participation. Christiane Hinninger, deputy mayor and head of economic affairs, has encouraged companies to take part. The fair's goal is to showcase Wiesbaden as a thriving industrial location while making career opportunities accessible in a familiar setting.
The job fair blends career networking with everyday city life. By bringing companies into the shopping district, it offers a direct way for jobseekers to meet employers. Registration for businesses remains open until mid-March, with the event itself set for late September.
