Wiesbaden’s Future Skills Hub expands free digital courses for seniors with new funding

Wiesbaden’s Future Skills Hub is expanding its digital courses for older adults after receiving €3,999 in funding. The money comes from Hesse’s 'Seniors Online' initiative and will provide new tablets for beginner-friendly workshops. These sessions aim to help seniors with little or no tech experience take their first steps into the digital world.

The workshops will cover key topics like 'My First Tablet', 'Understanding AI for Everyday Life', 'Staying Safe Online', and 'Using Wiesbaden’s Digital Services'. Each course focuses on practical learning, allowing plenty of time for questions and hands-on practice. The Future Skills Hub, located in the accessible Luisenforum, offers a supportive space with free Wi-Fi, projection tools, and an open, welcoming atmosphere.

The funding will directly support seniors eager to engage with digital tools but hesitant to begin. With new equipment and tailored courses, the Future Skills Hub aims to bridge the gap between older adults and technology. The long-term goal is to refine Wiesbaden’s digital services based on feedback, ensuring they remain accessible to all residents.
