Wiesbaden’s 2026 cultural kickoff: A week of music, theatre and art

Wiesbaden is set to host a lively start to 2026 with a mix of theatre, music, and art. From classical concerts to modern plays, the city’s cultural scene offers something for everyone in the first week of January. Visitors can explore exhibitions, live performances, and interactive events across various venues.

The week kicks off on January 6 with the Epiphany Vespers Christmas Concert at Bergkirche at 7:00 PM. Later that evening, Salsa Tuesday will bring dancers to Das Wohnzimmer at 9:00 PM.

On January 7, the Kurhaus Wiesbaden will host a concert featuring the music of Hans Zimmer and other composers at 8:00 PM. Earlier that day, Museum Wiesbaden will showcase Max Beckmann’s painting Ox Shed, 1933 at 12:15 PM. January 8 brings a packed schedule. At 10:00 AM, Zukunftswerk Wiesbaden will hold Experience the Future: Building Our Smart City!, an event focused on urban innovation. In the evening, Staatstheater Wiesbaden will premiere Crime Scene Cleaner, a play written by Felipe Arcila, at 8:00 PM. Meanwhile, Museum Wiesbaden will open Ophelia in Art Nouveau: A Taylor Swift Special at 7:00 PM. The night continues with a jam session at Das Wohnzimmer at 9:30 PM. Wiesbaden’s cultural venues, including the State Museum, City Museum, Women’s Museum, and Museum Ernst, provide year-round attractions. The city’s diverse programme ensures residents and visitors can enjoy theatre, music, dance, and nightlife throughout the season.

The first week of January 2026 in Wiesbaden features a broad range of events. Concerts, exhibitions, and interactive sessions will take place across the city’s key locations. Attendees can expect a mix of traditional and contemporary entertainment in the new year.
