Wiesbaden Rocks by Weekend Crime Wave and Wedding Chaos on A3

Wiesbaden experienced a series of incidents over the past weekend, including arson, theft, burglaries, and traffic chaos caused by a wedding procession on the A3 motorway. On October 26, at around 10:35 p.m., arsonists set fire to a discarded sofa and two clothing donation bins in Wiesbaden, causing approximately €4,000 in damages. Meanwhile, between October 21 and 25, multiple cordless power tools worth approximately €3,000 were stolen from two garages on Köpenicker Straße in Wiesbaden-Erbenheim. Over the weekend, two successful burglaries and two attempted burglaries occurred in Wiesbaden. In another incident, a gold chain was snatched from a pedestrian's neck on Schwalbacher Straße on October 24, at 6:20 p.m. A wedding procession caused traffic chaos on the A3 motorway near Hattersheim on October 26, between 6:10 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. The wedding party, consisting of more than ten vehicles, drove in snake-like patterns and blocked traffic. The suspect in the gold chain snatching is described as a male, approximately 20 to 25 years old, between 170 and 173 cm tall, of average build, wearing a checkered jacket and black pants. Speed checks on Gustav-Stresemann-Ring in Wiesbaden-Southeast from October 26 to 27 resulted in 12 speeding violations, with the worst offender—a Porsche driver—clocked at 95 km/h in a 50 km/h zone. Police are investigating the arson, theft, burglaries, and gold chain snatching incidents. They urge witnesses to come forward with any information. Meanwhile, traffic authorities remind drivers to adhere to speed limits and be mindful of other road users, especially during special events.
