Wiesbaden rocked by a week of violent assaults and unsolved break-ins

A series of violent incidents unfolded across Wiesbaden over the past week. Police are investigating multiple assaults, a failed robbery, and break-ins in different parts of the city.

One case involved a drug deal gone wrong, while another saw bystanders intervene to stop a phone snatch. Separately, two storage units were broken into, and a knife was brandished during a late-night confrontation.

On Thursday evening, a drug buyer was robbed after complaining about poor-quality substances. The victim tried to return the drugs and demand a refund but was punched in the face by one of the sellers. Both attackers then fled the scene.

Earlier, a 24-year-old and another man clashed with a 20-year-old and his associates in a physical fight. The same night, a would-be robber attempted to steal a phone in central Wiesbaden. Bystanders stepped in, preventing the theft, and the suspect escaped. The victim later described the assailants as appearing 'of Afghan descent,' with one wearing a red-and-black jacket. In a separate incident, a 64-year-old struck a 78-year-old woman in the head with a glass bottle near an underground parking garage on Schulberg Street. Another attack occurred when a 52-year-old was hit with a glass bottle close to the Old Synagogue memorial in the city centre. Meanwhile, two basement storage units in Wiesbaden-Kostheim were broken into between Wednesday evening and Thursday morning. The perpetrators remain unknown. Additionally, a man brandished a knife during a confrontation at Luisenplatz in the early hours of Friday morning.

Police are reviewing all reported incidents, though no arrests have been made so far. The break-ins in Kostheim remain unsolved, and investigators are seeking witnesses to the assaults. Authorities have urged anyone with information to come forward.
