Wiesbaden on High Alert: False Police, Drugs, and Assaults in City Center
Wiesbaden residents were left on high alert this week after a series of suspicious incidents. Two false police officers attempted to scam locals, while a man was caught with gas and drugs at a shopping center, and another assaulted a woman in the city center.
On Monday, at least two calls from imposters claiming to be Wiesbaden's 'Robbery Squad' were made. Thankfully, recipients saw through the ruse immediately. Police presence was beefed up in the area as a precaution.
In a separate incident, officers from the 3rd Police Station discovered a bag of various drugs and prescription medications at the former shopping center in the Schelmengraben. A 23-year-old man was spotted fleeing the scene. He was later questioned by police.
The following day, Tuesday around 03:10, an unknown man assaulted a woman in the pedestrian zone. A resident noticed the attack and saw the perpetrator flee towards Luisenstraße. The suspect is described as tall, of normal build, around 20-30 years old, with a German appearance, wearing a cap, dark hoodie, light jogging pants, and light shoes.
Police are urging residents to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity. If you receive a call from someone claiming to be police and asking for money or personal information, hang up immediately and contact your local police station. Anyone with information about the assault or the man caught with gas and drugs is asked to come forward.
