Wiesbaden hit by two bold break-ins in a single day
Two break-ins were reported in central Wiesbaden on Thursday. One targeted a shisha lounge early in the morning, while the other struck an apartment later in the day. Police are now searching for witnesses and examining possible links between the incidents.
The first burglary took place around 5 a.m. at a shisha lounge on Michelsberg Street. The suspect forced entry and stole the cash register's change. Witnesses described the man as roughly 5'7" to 5'11" tall, with a muscular yet slightly stocky build. He had short black hair, a full black beard, and wore a dark blue winter jacket with long, dark blue jeans.
The second break-in happened between 1:00 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. at an apartment in a multi-family home on Platter Straße. Jewellery, clothing, and perfume were taken. Police have not yet confirmed whether the same individual was responsible for both crimes.
Authorities noted a rise in similar incidents earlier in the year, with isolated burglary series reported on January 18 and 29, 2026. However, no broader impact on local crime statistics or policing has been documented so far.
Investigators are reviewing evidence and appealing for public assistance. The suspect's description from the shisha lounge break-in remains the primary lead. No arrests have been made, and the stolen items have yet to be recovered.
