Wiesbaden hit by a wave of burglaries in just ten days
A wave of burglaries in residential homes, basements, and a school has occurred in the past few days in Wiesbaden. According to the police, the perpetrators struck in several districts of the city.
Cash, jewelry, and thousands of euros in property damage
Between Sunday (21 September) and Tuesday (30 September), there were four burglaries in residential homes. In the Wiesbaden-North East district, unknown individuals forced open an apartment door in the 'Leberberg' street and searched the rooms. It is still unclear whether anything was stolen. In the Biebrich district, perpetrators initially failed to break into a winter garden door in the Eupener street. They eventually gained entry through a window. Here, the loot is also unknown, but the property damage is around 1000 euros.
In Erbenheim, burglars broke into an apartment in the Karl-Drebert street and stole cash and valuables. In Bierstadt, burglars gained entry to a single-family home in the Nauroder street between 10:45 AM and 13:00 PM by breaking a window. They ransacked all the rooms and fled with cash and valuables, causing approximately 1500 euros in property damage.
Basements and a school also targeted by the perpetrators
Between Wednesday (24 September) and Tuesday (30 September), burglars also targeted basement storage units. In the Wiesbaden South East district, they stole an e-bike and a monitor from a basement in the Dantestraße. In Mainz-Kostheim, basements in the 'Römerfeld' street and the Passauer street were also broken into. Here, the perpetrators took an e-scooter and suitcases.
Lastly, unknown individuals attempted to break into a school in the Rheingau district early on Wednesday morning (1 October). It was discovered at around 4:50 AM that a back door of the building in the Lahnstraße had been forced open. Nothing was stolen, but the damage to the door amounts to several hundred euros.
