Wiesbaden buses halted as heavy snow paralyzes city transport

ESWE Verkehr buses in Wiesbaden came to a halt on Tuesday afternoon because of heavy snowfall. The suspension began around 2 p.m., with the company putting passenger and staff safety first. Services only started again later in the day as conditions eased. Snow and icy roads forced ESWE Verkehr to stop all bus operations in Wiesbaden. The decision was made shortly after 2 p.m., leaving passengers without transport for several hours. Crews monitored weather updates before allowing any vehicles back on the roads.

Services slowly returned in the late afternoon and evening as snow cleared and road treatments took effect. However, not all routes were fully restored. Some stops at higher elevations stayed closed due to lingering hazards.

Passengers were warned to prepare for ongoing delays and possible cancellations. The disruption meant longer wait times and altered schedules for those travelling on Tuesday evening. Buses are now running again, but not all routes have returned to normal. Travellers should check for updates before heading out, as some areas may still face access issues. Delays are likely to continue while conditions fully stabilise.
