Wiesbaden and Mainz hit by violent attacks, vandalism, and a daring burglary in 48 hours

A series of criminal incidents and accidents occurred across Wiesbaden and Mainz over two days. On Monday night, a teenager was attacked on a FlixBus, while Tuesday saw a traffic collision, vehicle vandalism, and a late-night burglary. Police are now appealing for witnesses to help identify those responsible.

The first incident took place on a public bus in Mainz at 11:55 p.m. on Monday, February 16, 2026. Four unknown attackers, wearing no identifiable clothing, assaulted a 17-year-old passenger. The victim suffered minor injuries before other passengers stepped in, forcing the assailants to flee at Brückenkopf.

Earlier the next day, seven parked cars were vandalised along Charles-de-Gaulle-Straße in Wiesbaden-Rheingauviertel. The damage occurred around 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, February 17, resulting in thousands of euros in repairs. Police have asked anyone with information to call (0611) 345-0.

That same evening, at 7:30 p.m., a 19-year-old driver was injured in a collision on Straße der Republik in Wiesbaden-Biebrich. The other driver, a 44-year-old without a valid licence, is also a suspect in an earlier hit-and-run case. The younger driver sustained only minor injuries.

Hours later, between 1:00 and 1:10 a.m. on Wednesday, February 18, a retail store in Wiesbaden-Nordenstadt was broken into. Thieves stole high-value gold jewellery, with surveillance footage showing the perpetrators in black balaclavas and dark clothing. Authorities are urging anyone with details to contact (0611) 345-0.

The incidents remain under investigation, with police actively seeking witnesses. The public is encouraged to report any relevant information to assist in identifying those involved. No further details on the suspects have been released at this time.
