Westpac's Book a Banker tool speeds up home loan appointments nationwide

Westpac has introduced a new digital tool called Book a Banker to simplify home loan appointments. The service lets customers schedule meetings with lenders instantly, choosing their preferred time, location, and method. Since its launch, the tool has already helped thousands secure appointments and complete settlements.

The Book a Banker feature was first tested in Queensland, where around 3,000 appointments were booked. Nearly 400 customers successfully finalised property settlements through the service. Its flexibility—offering phone calls, video chats, in-branch visits, or even cafĂ© meetings—has made it especially popular in regional areas, boosting virtual appointments by over 45%.

One success story involves long-term Westpac customers Cheryl and Michael, who used the tool to quickly settle on their Gold Coast investment property. Appointments are confirmed immediately, with reminders sent via email and SMS to keep customers on track.

As of February 2026, the service is available at 250 branches nationwide, mainly in major cities like Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth, and Adelaide. However, it has not yet reached rural and remote locations in Queensland, the Northern Territory, or Tasmania. Plans are underway to expand access to St.George, BankSA, and Bank of Melbourne customers in the coming months.

James Hutton, Westpac's Managing Director of Mortgages, credits the tool's success to its convenience for busy customers. To mark the national rollout, Westpac is also offering users a chance to win a State of Origin experience.

The Book a Banker tool has streamlined the home loan process for thousands of Australians. With instant confirmations, flexible meeting options, and a growing branch network, the service aims to make property settlements faster and more accessible. Expansion to additional banks and regions is expected soon.
