"We combine tradition with innovation"
Brod GmbH & Co. KG, a long-standing supplier of hygiene products, has been serving Hanau since 1972. The family-run business now operates from MoselstraĂe, where it specialises in custom-cut wiping cloths and wholesale solutions. Recently, local officials visited the company to discuss its growth and sustainability efforts.
The company was founded nearly 52 years ago and moved to its current location in 1989. Today, it employs twelve people, including trainees and part-time staff, while supplying products across Europe. Among its key clients are Hanauâs two hospitals, ensuring essential hygiene supplies during both routine operations and emergencies.
Brod GmbH & Co. KG has developed its own brands, such as BrotexÂŽ, BrozellÂŽ, NowolanÂŽ, NowolinÂŽ, and NowozellÂŽ. Alongside these, the business offers personalised customer service and tailored product customisation. To meet modern demands, it has expanded production capacity and embraced digitalisation, e-commerce, and even artificial intelligence. Sustainability remains a priority for the firm. A photovoltaic system helps power operations with climate-neutral energy, while PEFC certification confirms responsible sourcing of materials. However, the company also faces rising challenges, including stricter regulatory, certification, and documentation requirements. Mayor Claus Kaminsky and Andreas Kunz, Managing Director of Hanau Economic Development Agency, recently toured the site. They met with **Andreas Brod**, the companyâs **GeschäftsfĂźhrer**, and **Daniela Linken**, who serves as **Prokuristin**. The visit highlighted Brod GmbH & Co. KGâs role in the region and its ongoing investments in innovation.
The company continues to balance tradition with modernisation, from expanding its product lines to adopting greener energy solutions. Its focus on local hospitals and regional facilities ensures reliable support during critical times. With new technology and sustainability measures in place, Brod GmbH & Co. KG remains a key player in Hanauâs business landscape.
