Wave of Burglaries Hits Offenbach District in 24 Hours
A series of burglaries and thefts struck the Offenbach district late this week. Thieves targeted a parish building, a pub, a garage, and a parked car between Wednesday night and Thursday evening. Police have yet to confirm any links between the incidents.
In Dreieich, a burglar broke into a parish building on Fahrgasse between 11 PM on Wednesday and 6 AM on Thursday. The intruder stole several electronic entertainment devices before fleeing. Witnesses described the suspect as around 35 years old, wearing a dark blue rain jacket, black backpack, and dark shoes.
Just after 2:15 AM on Thursday, four men forced their way into a pub on Bahnstraße in Langen. They pried open the front door, stole cash boxes from two slot machines and a cash register, and caused roughly €5,000 in damage. The suspects escaped on foot and were described in detail: one wore a silver jacket with ripped jeans, another a dark hooded jacket with light-printed pants, a third a brown jacket and dark cap, and the fourth a black hoodie with distinctive red-and-black shoes.
Meanwhile, in Obertshausen, thieves raided a rented garage on Birkenwaldstraße, taking cables, microphones, a mixing console, and other equipment worth several thousand euros. The owner had last checked the garage in late December, suggesting the break-in happened weeks earlier.
On Thursday, between 8 AM and 6:30 PM, an unknown thief stole a gray Opel Astra station wagon from a lot on Hegelstraße in Dreieich. The vehicle's licence plate was OF-5522.
Police reports mention similar isolated incidents in recent weeks, including vehicle break-ins, garage thefts, and construction site burglaries. However, authorities have not classified any of these cases as connected.
The thefts and burglaries resulted in financial losses and property damage across multiple locations. Investigations are ongoing, but no arrests have been made so far. Police urge anyone with information to come forward.
