Wage Talks Deadlock: ver.di, Deutsche Post Set for March Negotiations

Wage negotiations between ver.di and Deutsche Post remain unresolved, with the next round set for March 3/4, 2025. The third round failed to yield an agreement, prompting warning strikes in North Rhine-Westphalia and potential parcel delivery delays from the USPS.

ver.di demands a seven percent linear wage increase for around 170,000 Deutsche Post employees. The union also seeks additional vacation days for workers and trainees. Thomas Großtück, head of the postal services, logistics, and transport sector in North Rhine-Westphalia, criticized the third round's offer as inadequate.

The warning strikes, held from Tuesday evening (25.2.) to Wednesday morning (26.2.), could lead to widespread parcel delivery delays from Wednesday onwards. ver.di expects the fourth round of negotiations to include significant wage increases and improved working conditions.

The fourth round of wage negotiations between ver.di and Deutsche Post is scheduled for March 3/4, 2025. ver.di hopes for an offer that addresses its demands, while Deutsche Post aims to reach a resolution. Consumers may face parcel delivery disruptions due to the ongoing labor dispute.
