VW Passat’s side mirror smashed in Niederstadt—was it a cyclist or pedestrian?

A blue VW Passat was damaged in Niederstadt after its left-side mirror was struck. The incident happened near house number 4, with police suspecting a pedestrian or cyclist was responsible. Authorities are now asking for witnesses to come forward.

The damage took place between 4:30 p.m. and the time the car owner returned. Upon inspection, officers found the mirror glass shattered but the rest of the unit intact. The electrical connectors and housing remained undamaged, leaving the mirror still functional.

No evidence suggested another vehicle was involved. Instead, investigators believe a passerby or cyclist may have brushed against the mirror hard enough to crack it. The perpetrator remains unknown, and no suspects have been identified so far. Sontra Police have opened an inquiry and are urging anyone with information to contact them.
