VPBank revolutionizes banking with cloud-native core system upgrade

VPBank, one of Vietnam's leading private commercial banks, has completed a significant modernization of its core banking system in collaboration with Temenos and Systems Limited. The project, deployed on Red Hat OpenShift, aims to drive cost efficiencies and enhance customer experience.

The modernization, led by William Dale, Managing Director - APAC at Temenos, saw VPBank migrate over 18 million customer accounts and millions of loan records to the latest Temenos core banking system in a single cutover window of less than 24 hours. This transformation, executed by Ammara Masood's team at Systems Limited, brings VPBank to a fully cloud-native environment, enhancing scalability and performance.

VPBank can now introduce new products faster, integrate better with external partners, and offer richer digital experiences. The modernization, praised by Wong Kok Seng Augustine, Chief of Information Officer at VPBank, is seen as a foundation for future innovation and agility. Jane Dao Hoang, Country Manager at Red Hat Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos & Myanmar, commended Red Hat OpenShift's capabilities for mission-critical applications and business continuity.

VPBank's modernization, done in collaboration with Temenos and Systems Limited on Red Hat OpenShift, has successfully migrated millions of records and enhanced the bank's agility and customer experience. The project is expected to drive significant cost efficiencies and enable VPBank to innovate and adapt quickly in the future.
