Violent incidents and vandalism surge across Oberursel and Bad Homburg

A series of vandalism and violent incidents have been reported across Oberursel, Bad Homburg, and surrounding areas in recent months. Police are investigating multiple cases, including property damage, a road rage confrontation, and an appliance repair incident linked to drug possession.

In Bad Homburg, a man in his 60s—described as having grey hair and a three-day stubble—was involved in a road rage incident where he allegedly used coercion against another driver. The suspect was under the influence of alcohol and initially refused to provide his personal details to authorities.

Meanwhile, in Usingen, a 22-year-old man was arrested after smashing a window at a sports hall in Merzhausen. Officers found drugs in his possession during the arrest. This case is now under investigation by the criminal police, with witnesses encouraged to contact the Oberursel police station.

Property damage has also been widespread. A bus stop in Stierstadt had its glass panel shattered, resulting in an estimated €2,000 in repairs. In Oberursel, windows of two separate buildings were damaged, causing thousands of euros in losses. Additionally, a car in Kirdorf was severely scratched, leading to further costly repairs.

Exact figures for police-registered incidents of vandalism in Oberursel and Bad Homburg over the last three months remain unavailable. However, investigations into these incidents are ongoing.

Authorities continue to probe the recent wave of destruction and violent behaviour in the region. The arrested suspect in Usingen faces potential charges, while police urge anyone with information on the other incidents to come forward. Repairs for the damaged properties are expected to cost thousands of euros in total.
