Violent handbag robbery at Königstein bus stop leaves woman injured
Police in Königstein are hunting for a man after a violent handbag robbery late on Monday evening. The incident took place at around 10:00 PM on January 26, 2026, at a bus stop on Georg-Pingler-Straße. The victim, a woman, was injured and needed medical care following the attack.
Meanwhile, in nearby Friedrichsdorf, a separate incident saw youths building a dangerous snow barrier across a public road, posing risks to drivers.
The robbery occurred when the woman was waiting at the bus stop. The suspect, described as 25 to 30 years old, stood between 1.70 and 1.75 metres tall and had a slim build. Witnesses noted his dark clothing and what they called a 'southern' appearance. The attacker fled before officers arrived, leaving the victim with injuries that required treatment.
At the scene, police also encountered four individuals aged between 14 and 20. All wore black winter jackets and ran off toward Frankfurt-Tempel when authorities approached.
Earlier that same evening, a group of young people in Friedrichsdorf constructed a knee-high snow wall across Talstraße. Such obstructions on public roads are illegal, as they can disrupt traffic flow and cause accidents. Authorities have warned that interfering with road safety in this way may lead to serious collisions.
The search for the robbery suspect continues, with police urging anyone with information to come forward. The injured woman has received medical attention, though details of her condition remain undisclosed.
In Friedrichsdorf, officials have reminded residents that blocking roads with snow or other barriers is against the law. Those responsible for such actions could face legal consequences.
