Violent carjacking attempt in Eltville leaves police seeking suspect’s identity

Police in Wiesbaden are appealing for help after a violent carjacking attempt in Eltville am Rhein. The incident took place on August 30, 2025, when a woman was threatened by an unknown man in a shopping centre car park. Authorities have now released surveillance images of the suspect in hopes of identifying him.

The attack happened in the exit area of a shopping centre on Roßpfad. The suspect approached the female driver’s car, brandishing a screwdriver through her open window while making threats. He is described as around 20 years old, slim, and wearing a black-and-blue tracksuit. He also had on a woollen beanie, dark sunglasses, and a scarf covering his mouth and nose.

The investigation into the attempted carjacking remains ongoing. Police continue to gather evidence and are relying on public assistance to locate the suspect. The released images and description aim to prompt further leads in the case.
