Violent carjacking attempt in Eltville leaves police searching for suspect

Police in Wiesbaden are hunting for a suspect after a violent carjacking attempt in Eltville am Rhein. On August 30, 2025, a woman was threatened by a man wielding a screwdriver as she sat in her car. Authorities have now released surveillance pictures to help identify the attacker.

The incident took place in the exit area of a shopping centre on Roßpfad. The suspect approached the woman’s vehicle through an open window, brandishing a screwdriver and making threats. He is described as around 20 years old, slim, and dressed in a black-and-blue tracksuit. He also wore a woollen beanie, dark sunglasses, and a scarf covering his mouth and nose.

The investigation remains ongoing as police work to track down the suspect. Authorities are relying on public assistance to gather further leads. The released pictures and descriptions aim to speed up the identification process.
