Violent bus assault in Wiesbaden leaves bystander injured after intervention

A 44-year-old man from Wiesbaden is facing criminal charges after an assault on a bus. The incident began when he allegedly harassed a woman on Route 6 near Große Bleiche at around 9:10 a.m. Police have since launched proceedings for assault and verbal abuse.

The confrontation escalated when a 52-year-old bystander from Mainz intervened. The suspect then turned on him, spitting in his face and hurling insults. He also kicked the man in the ribs and knee.

Both men left the bus at Münsterplatz and walked toward Schillerplatz. Officers later found the injured 52-year-old at the scene and detained the suspect.

The investigation remains active, with police appealing for witnesses to provide further information. The woman initially harassed has not yet come forward or been identified.

The suspect now faces legal action for his actions. Authorities continue to gather evidence while urging anyone with details to contact them. The injured man received medical attention following the attack.
