Vandals strike two Wetterau towns, damaging school and eight cars in one night
A spate of vandalism has struck two towns in the Wetterau district over the past few days. In Nieder-Florstadt, unknown offenders damaged a school gymnasium between friday evening and Monday morning. Meanwhile, in Friedberg, a lone suspect smashed the side mirrors of eight cars on Monday night. Police are now appealing for witnesses to come forward with any information.
The first incident took place at the Karl-Weigand School in Nieder-Florstadt. Between 5:30 PM on friday, November 28, 2025, and 7:00 AM on Monday, December 1, 2025, vandals targeted the entrance door of the gymnasium. The damage is estimated at around €7,500.
On the same Monday evening, at approximately 8:20 PM, another act of vandalism occurred on Hanauer Straße in Friedberg. A suspect, described as roughly 180 cm tall and dressed entirely in dark clothing, damaged eight vehicles by breaking their side mirrors. The total cost of the damage is believed to be about €800.
After the attack in Friedberg, the perpetrator fled in the direction of the train station. Authorities have not released the suspect’s name but are actively seeking information from the public.
Friedberg Police are urging anyone with suspicious observations to contact them at 06031 6010. The incidents have left local residents and school officials dealing with the aftermath, while investigators work to identify those responsible. Both cases remain under active investigation.
