Vandalism and pickpocketing strike two German towns in one morning
Two separate crimes took place in the early hours of Friday, January 23, 2026, in the Friedrichsdorf and Bommersheim areas. In one incident, three children vandalised an apartment building near me, causing significant damage. Meanwhile, pickpockets targeted two victims in Friedrichsdorf within the same morning.
At around 8 AM, three boysâeach roughly 12 years oldâdeliberately damaged the entrance door and window of an apartments on Karl-Hermann-Flach-StraĂe in Bommersheim. Witnesses later described the children by their clothing and hair, though no arrests have been reported. The repairs are expected to cost several hundred euros.
Earlier that same morning, two pickpocketing incidents occurred in Friedrichsdorf. A woman was targeted on Köpperner StraĂe, while a man fell victim in the parking lot opposite Taunus CarrĂ© on WilhelmstraĂe. The first pair of suspects were described as two men in their 30s, about 1.70 metres tall, with stocky builds and dark hair. Both wore dark clothing, and one had a black beanie. In the second incident, the suspect stood out due to his heightâaround 1.90 metresâwith brown hair and a black coat.
Police have not yet confirmed whether the cases are linked or if any suspects have been identified.
The incidents left residents and authorities on alert, with property damage and thefts reported within hours of each other. Investigations into both crimes remain ongoing, though no further details have been released at this stage.
