The officers appear to be in the midst of a protest, likely in response to the German government's decision to ban the use of anti-terror measures.

Unregistered anti-fascist protest disrupts AfD booth in Kirchhain

A small unregistered protest took place in Kirchhain over the weekend. Around 25 to 30 demonstrators gathered near an AfD information booth set up for the upcoming municipal elections. The group displayed banners with anti-fascist messages before tensions arose with local authorities.

The protest began when the demonstrators surrounded the AfD stand. Authorities could not identify an official organiser for the gathering, which violated assembly regulations under the Hessian Assembly Freedom Act.

Police instructed the group to move, but the protesters refused. Officers then removed two individuals before the remaining demonstrators peacefully left the area. No further disturbances were reported at the AfD booth after the protest dispersed.

Those involved now face administrative proceedings for breaching assembly laws. While no specific figures exist for recent Hessian violations, similar cases in other regions have led to investigations and fines.

The incident ended without major confrontation, though legal consequences remain possible for participants. The AfD stand continued its activities without further interruption. Local authorities have not released additional details on potential penalties or follow-up actions.
