Unprovoked assault in Kassel leaves man with broken jaw and police searching

A 37-year-old man from Kassel was attacked by an unknown assailant on Tuesday evening in Niederzwehren, receiving multiple blows to the face and sustaining injuries. The incident occurred at around 6:15 PM on the parking lot of a discount supermarket in Frankfurter Straße. The victim was reportedly consuming alcohol with two women at the time, who later told a patrol from the South-West police station. The unknown man initially joined them and engaged in conversation, but suddenly and without warning, he began striking the 37-year-old multiple times. The victim suffered a broken jaw and had to be treated in a hospital. The unknown assailant then fled in the direction of Töpfenhofweg. He is described as being approximately 35 to 40 years old, 1.75 meters tall, with a reddish-blonde full beard and sideburns, and very short hair. He is said to have spoken with an Eastern European accent and was wearing a black cap. Despite immediate efforts to apprehend him, he could not be found.
