Unlicensed 24-year-old driver arrested with stolen plates and drugs on A67 motorway
A 24-year-old driver from the Offenbach district has been arrested after police found him with stolen license plates and no valid insurance. The incident took place at the Lorsch-Ost rest area on the A67 motorway, where plainclothes officers noticed the suspicious Volkswagen he was driving. Both the driver and his 27-year-old passenger from Frankfurt were taken into custody for further questioning.
Officers became suspicious when they spotted the Volkswagen with stolen plates at the motorway services. Upon stopping the vehicle, they discovered the driver possessed a small amount of hashish and admitted to not having a valid driver's license. He also confessed to consuming drugs before getting behind the wheel.
The driver was immediately required to give a blood sample for testing. Authorities then seized the stolen plates as evidence. Investigations revealed multiple offences, including document forgery, driving without insurance, misuse of registration plates, and driving under the influence. Both men were provisionally arrested and taken to a local police station. The driver, already under scrutiny for past violations, now faces several new charges linked to this incident.
The case has led to multiple investigations against the 24-year-old for serious traffic and drug-related offences. The stolen plates were confiscated, and the driver remains under suspicion for driving without a license and under the influence. Further legal steps are expected as the investigation continues.
