Underground garage fire in Dietzenbach destroys four cars overnight

A fire broke out in an underground garage on Rohrbrunner Weg in Dietzenbach late on Thursday night. The blaze destroyed four cars and caused extensive damage to the building. Authorities confirmed no injuries were reported.

The fire was first reported shortly after 2:30 a.m. By the time firefighters arrived, flames had already engulfed several vehicles. Three cars—an Audi A6, a BMW 2 Series, and a Volkswagen—were completely destroyed. A fourth sustained such severe damage that it was declared a total loss.

The garage itself suffered significant structural harm. Around one-third of the ceiling surface was either blackened or collapsed, exposing damaged electrical wiring in places. Preliminary estimates suggest the total cost of the damage could reach up to €300,000.

Criminal police are now investigating the cause of the fire. As of February 20, 2026, no further details about the incident—including the fire department's response—have been made public.

The investigation into the fire's origin remains ongoing. The garage will require substantial repairs before it can be safely used again. Authorities have not yet released any additional information about the cause or circumstances surrounding the blaze.
