Two Metal Employers' Associations Merge to Strengthen Industry Voice

Two prominent employers' associations in the metal industry, the Employers' Association of the Metal Industry of Wuppertal and Niederberg e.V. and the Employers' Association Solingen e.V., have merged. The new entity, named 'Bergisch Employers' Association of the Metal Industry e.V.', aims to bolster the employers' voice and strengthen their position in negotiations with trade unions and political bodies.

The merger, approved unanimously by both associations' general meetings, took place on Tuesday. The new association will operate under the name 'Bergisch Arbeitgebervereinigung der Metallindustrie e.V.', providing improved framework conditions and more effective advice to its member companies. Despite the official founding date not being specified, the merger date has been set retroactively to December 31, 2023. The combined association seeks to enhance its influence and better represent the interests of its members in the heavy metal industry.

The merger of these two employers' associations signals a strategic move to consolidate power and improve services for member companies. The new 'Bergisch Employers' Association of the Metal Industry e.V.' is set to play a significant role in shaping the industry's future, with a stronger voice in negotiations and improved support for its members.
