Two-car crash on State Road 3068 leaves one driver critically injured

A serious traffic accident took place on State Road 3068 near Dietges on Saturday afternoon. The crash involved two vehicles and left one driver with severe injuries. Emergency services rushed to the scene shortly after 2:15 p.m.

The incident began when a 36-year-old Portuguese man, driving a Ford, attempted to turn left from State Road 3068 onto Federal Road 458. He did not see an oncoming BMW, driven by a 26-year-old from Hofbieber. The collision caused significant damage to both cars.

The 26-year-old BMW driver suffered serious injuries and was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment. The Ford driver, whose name has not been released, was unharmed. Both vehicles were left unroadworthy, with estimated repair costs of around €10,000 each. Tow trucks removed the wrecked cars from the scene. Police are investigating the cause of the crash, though no further details have been made public at this time.

The injured driver remains in hospital, while authorities continue to examine the circumstances of the accident. The road was temporarily blocked during recovery operations, but traffic has since returned to normal. No charges have yet been announced.
