Two brutal glass bottle attacks shock Wiesbaden in 20 minutes
Two violent altercations broke out in central Wiesbaden on Thursday morning, 22 January 2026. The first involved a 52-year-old man attacked near the old synagogue memorial, while the second saw a 64-year-old woman strike a 78-year-old with a glass bottle. Both incidents occurred within 20 minutes of each other between 09:10 and 09:30.
The first confrontation took place at the memorial site of the old synagogue. A 52-year-old man was assaulted by an unidentified attacker who demanded repayment of a debt. The attacker fled before officers arrived and remains at large.
Minutes later, a second brawl erupted near the exit of an underground parking garage on Schulbergstraße. A 64-year-old woman struck a 78-year-old woman in the head with a glass bottle, causing injury. Police arrived quickly and took the 64-year-old into custody. She was required to provide a blood sample and spent the rest of the day in detention. Authorities are now investigating both cases as aggravated assault. They have urged anyone with information to come forward and contact police at +49 611 345-2140.
