After Lkw Fire on A3, Asphalt Tested - Delays - Truck Fire Causes Major A3 Delays Near Frankfurt Airport
A truck fire on Thursday afternoon caused significant traffic disruptions between Kelsterbach and the Frankfurt interchange. The cause of the blaze remains unknown, and the driver's identity has not been revealed, as they sustained minor injuries.
The incident led to severe traffic congestion in both directions and on nearby routes. The heavily traveled stretch of the A3 near Frankfurt Airport is expected to face further delays due to the previous day's truck fire. In response to water from firefighting efforts, the A3 had to be temporarily closed in the opposite direction towards WΓΌrzburg. As of now, the left lane in the direction of Cologne remains closed, with the second lane from the left set to be closed later in the morning for asphalt damage assessment.
The truck fire has caused substantial traffic disruptions and is likely to continue affecting the A3 near Frankfurt Airport. Authorities are working to assess and repair any damage caused by the incident.
