Tree-Felling Accident Leaves Worker with Severe Head Injuries in Germany

A 22-year-old worker was seriously injured in a tree-felling accident on Saturday morning. The incident happened in a wooded area between Steinau and Marjoß, along State Road 3196. The man suffered severe head injuries after being struck by a falling branch while cutting down a beech tree with a colleague.

The accident occurred around 10:30 AM on March 23, 2026. The two men were working together to fell a large beech tree when a thick, broken branch detached and hit the younger worker. Despite wearing protective gear, he sustained serious head trauma.

Emergency services arrived quickly at the scene. A rescue helicopter airlifted the injured man to a nearby hospital for urgent treatment. Police have launched an investigation into the incident. Authorities are examining whether negligence by the second worker contributed to the accident. The exact circumstances leading to the branch breaking remain under review.
