Tostedt: Sparkasse Harburg-Buxtehude Closes SB Branch in Bahnhofstraße
Sparkasse Harburg-Buxtehude will close its self-service branch at 37b Bahnhofstraße in Tostedt at the end of July. The decision follows a drop in customer visits, as more people switch to online banking and cashless payments. The branch will shut its doors permanently on July 24, 2023.
The bank has cited changing customer habits as the reason for the closure. Fewer people now visit the self-service branch, with many opting for digital transactions instead. Despite the shutdown, all banking services will still be available in Tostedt.
The advisory centre on Unter den Linden will take over all operations from the closing branch. This location is less than a ten-minute walk from the current Bahnhofstraße site. Customers needing cash services or other banking support can continue to use the Unter den Linden branch after July 24.
The closure marks the end of self-service banking at the Bahnhofstraße address. All remaining services will be provided at the nearby advisory centre. The bank has not released specific figures on how online banking growth influenced this decision.
