Pocket Authority: Thuringia App to Arrive in 2026 - Thuringia’s all-in-one digital app launches summer 2026 under Smart State plan
Thuringia is set to launch its own digital app in summer 2026. The project forms part of the state’s Smart State strategy, which the cabinet is expected to approve this week. Residents will soon be able to access government services, local news, and transport options all in one place.
The app’s development is led by Milen Starke, Thuringia’s Chief Information Officer and Chief Digital Officer. Steffen Dittes is coordinating the project, which will roll out in two stages. The first phase, originally planned for autumn 2024, will focus on providing users with key information about the region. This includes news, events, tourism details, and mobility services like the Germany Ticket.
The Thuringia app will officially launch at the start of the summer holidays in 2026. Once fully operational, it will combine regional updates, transport links, and digital government services. The state expects the platform to make everyday tasks quicker and more convenient for residents.
