Three-Vehicle Crash on County Road 31 Leaves One Severely Injured

A serious crash involving three vehicles took place on County Road 31 near Trohe. The collision left one driver with severe injuries and forced the road to close for hours. Police are now investigating the cause of the accident.

The incident happened as a 36-year-old woman from Buseck drove her Kia with a trailer toward Trohe. A 53-year-old man in a BMW attempted to overtake her, leading to a head-on collision with an oncoming Audi. The Audi was driven by an 86-year-old man travelling in the opposite direction.

The Kia driver suffered serious injuries and was rushed to hospital. The BMW driver, the Audi driver, and his 62-year-old female passenger escaped with minor injuries. All three vehicles were so badly damaged that they had to be towed away.

Authorities shut down the road completely for several hours while clearing the scene. Early estimates place the total damage from the crash at no less than €70,000.

The accident remains under investigation by local police. The injured Kia driver is still receiving medical treatment, while the other parties involved were released after minor care. The road has since reopened, but the financial and physical impact of the crash will likely persist.
