Three injured in multi-car crash on Wiesbaden’s busy B455 highway

A serious traffic collision on B455 near Wiesbaden left three people injured on January 4, 2026. The crash, involving two cars with nine occupants, happened around 6 PM between the Rambach and Naurod exits. Authorities declared a 'mass casualty incident' due to the scale of the accident.

The accident occurred when two vehicles collided on the busy B455. Nine people were inside the cars at the time, including a child who suffered severe injuries. Rescue teams from Wiesbaden, Naurod, Rambach, and Sonnenberg rushed to the scene.

Emergency services, including a senior physician and a rapid-response unit, treated the injured. Two individuals sustained minor wounds, while six others escaped without harm. The road was fully closed in both directions to allow rescue and recovery operations. Police have since launched an investigation into the cause of the crash. The identity of the driver involved has not been released to the public.

One child remains hospitalised with serious injuries following the collision. The B455 has since reopened, but authorities continue to examine the circumstances. The incident serves as a reminder of the risks on high-traffic routes like the B455.
