Three Hessian Cities Receive the 'Savings Euro' - Three Hessian Towns Honoured for Cost-Saving Initiatives at 'Savings Euro' Awards
The 'Savings Euro' award, now in its 19th year, honours municipalities that demonstrate cost-saving initiatives, civic engagement, and effective collaboration. This Thursday, three Hessian towns will receive the accolade, each for unique achievements. The ceremony begins at 9:30 AM with Bad Soden-Salmünster, followed by Nidderau at 12:00 PM and Mörfelden-Walldorf at 3:00 PM.
Bad Soden-Salmünster will be recognised for a remarkable community-led project. Citizens transformed a public swimming pool into a low-maintenance, energy-self-sufficient natural pool. This innovative approach has saved the town significant resources.
Nidderau, meanwhile, will be honoured for its innovative digital citizen services. The town has embraced technology to improve communication and efficiency, benefiting both residents and local government.
Mörfelden-Walldorf earns the award for expanding its wastewater treatment plant with a fourth purification stage. This is a first for the region and demonstrates the town's commitment to environmental sustainability and financial responsibility.
