A solar farm project near Magdeburg, Germany, has been hit by multiple thefts in recent days, with significant losses reported. The developer, GETEC green energy GmbH, is constructing the site to produce 100% green hydrogen. Police have stepped up patrols in the area.

The estimated damage since Wednesday is in the mid-five-figure range. Large quantities of non-ferrous metals and tools have been stolen from the site, which is part of the Regenerative Energiepark Zerbst. In response to these incidents, the developer has tightened security measures.

Police have announced increased patrols around the area to deter further thefts and apprehend the culprits. The solar farm, once completed, will contribute to Germany's renewable energy goals by generating green hydrogen.
