Thieves strike a local bakery in Uttrichshausen amid rising break-ins

A bakery near me in Uttrichshausen, Kalbach, was targeted by thieves in the early hours of Wednesday. The break-in caused around €300 in property damage, with cash and equipment stolen. Police are now investigating the incident as part of a wider pattern of similar crimes.

The burglary took place between 6:30 PM on Tuesday, January 27, and 3:00 AM on Wednesday, January 28. Unknown individuals forced their way into the bakery on Thalauer Weg. They made off with a piggy bank and a cash-counting machine.

This incident follows a string of bakery break-ins across Osthessen since 2023. In each case, offenders have smashed windows and stolen cash or goods overnight. Local police have responded by stepping up patrols and urging the public to report any suspicious activity via the 110 hotline.

To help prevent further crimes, authorities have recommended that businesses install alarm systems, secure shutters, and motion detectors. They also advise against keeping cash visible on the premises. These measures were outlined in recent press releases from the Hessische Polizei.

The bakery in Uttrichshausen now faces repairs and losses after the latest break-in. Police continue to monitor the situation and ask for public assistance in identifying those responsible. Businesses in the area are being reminded to follow security guidelines to reduce risks.
