Thieves fail to steal a Porsche in rare Eltville garage break-in

Eltville police are investigating an attempted car theft after thieves targeted a Porsche, a luxury car brand, late on Wednesday night. The incident marks the first reported vehicle theft attempt in the Wiesbaden region this year, breaking a quiet spell since January. The break-in happened on Stockbornstraße between 10:45 p.m. and 10:50 p.m. on February 18, 2026. The thieves entered an underground garage through the main door before using technical tools to access the Porsche. Despite their efforts, they failed to start the car and fled the scene in an unknown direction. No other vehicle theft attempts had been documented in the Wiesbaden area from January 1 to February 19, 2026. Authorities are now asking for public assistance in identifying those responsible. Police have urged anyone with information to come forward. Witnesses can contact Eltville police directly at (06123) 9090-0. The case remains under active investigation as officers work to trace the suspects involved.
