Teresa Hohmann becomes Fulda’s newest tenured judge in 2026

Teresa Hohmann, a 32-year-old legal professional from Fulda, has been appointed as a tenured judge at the Fulda Regional Court. Her new role officially begins on January 1, 2026, following years of legal training and judicial service in Hesse.

Hohmann completed her education in Fulda, graduating from Rabanus Maurus School in 2013. She then studied law at the University of Würzburg before passing her First State Examination in Law in 2019. After finishing her legal clerkship in the Fulda Regional Court district, she passed her Second State Examination in May 2022.

She entered Hesse’s judicial service in July 2022, initially working at the Bad Hersfeld District Court. By August 2023, she had transferred to the Fulda Regional Court, where she served as a judge before her lifetime appointment. The appointment was formally signed by Hesse’s Minister of Justice and for the Rule of Law, Christian Heinz. Dr. Patrick Liesching, President of the Fulda Regional Court, welcomed the decision. He highlighted Hohmann’s strong qualifications and experience, calling her a valuable addition to the court.

Hohmann’s appointment as Richterin marks a key step in her legal career. She will now serve as a permanent judge at the Fulda Regional Court starting in 2026. The court’s leadership has expressed confidence in her abilities and legal expertise.
