Teenagers suspected of arson after donation bin fire in Rimbach supermarket lot
A clothing donation bin caught fire in a supermarket car park on Staatsstraße in Rimbach on Friday evening. The blaze was quickly put out using a fire extinguisher. Police are now investigating the incident as suspected arson.
Damage from the fire is estimated at around €700. Authorities are appealing for witnesses to come forward with information about a group of teenagers seen near the scene before the fire started.
The incident took place on January 9, when a donation container in the supermarket parking lot was set alight. Witnesses reported seeing three to five youths, aged between 13 and 16, near the burning bin just before the fire broke out.
One teenager stood out due to his unusual height—between 1.85 and 1.90 metres—with long blonde curly hair and a slender build. He was described as loud, wearing baggy jeans and an olive-green jacket. Another youth was noticeably shorter, around 1.65 metres tall, with dark short hair, a Southern European appearance, and dressed entirely in black. Police have launched an investigation and are asking anyone with details about the teenagers’ identities to contact them.
