88-Year-Old Drives into 18-Year-Old in Car Wash - Teen injured after elderly driver loses control in German car wash
An 18-year-old man was injured in a car wash accident on Christmas Eve morning. The incident took place in the Hochtaunuskreis district of Oberursel, Germany, after an elderly driver lost control of her vehicle. The young man was rushed to hospital for treatment following the mishap.
The accident happened when an 88-year-old woman was maneuvering her car inside the car wash. She mistakenly pressed the accelerator instead of the brake, causing the vehicle to lurch forward. The teenager, who was standing near a floor mat cleaner, became trapped briefly between the car and the cleaning equipment.
Emergency services attended the scene and transported the injured man to a nearby hospital. Authorities have not released further details about his condition. The case is separate from an earlier investigation by the Kriminalpolizei into a December 6 collision in Oberursel involving a DRK ambulance and a 48-year-old driver.
The injured young man received medical care after the accident. Police have not yet confirmed whether charges will be filed against the elderly driver. The investigation into the incident remains ongoing.
