A 15-year-old girl was bitten by a loose bulldog while playing at a playground in Löhnberg-Obershausen on January 10, 2026. The incident occurred near the fire station, and the dog belonged to a group of two men and a woman. Police are now seeking witnesses to gather more details about the attack. The attack took place as the girl sat on a swing at the playground. Without warning, the unrestrained bulldog approached and bit her leg, causing minor injuries. The dog was described as having red, brown, and white fur.

The group accompanying the animal included two men and a woman. One man wore a short leather jacket, black trousers, athletic shoes, and a cap. The woman was reportedly dressed in a coat and carried a briefcase. In a separate incident on the same day, a 25-year-old man lost control of his Opel Corsa on an icy stretch of road between Niedertiefenbach and Hofen. The car skidded and struck a traffic sign, damaging both the vehicle and the sign. The driver escaped unharmed. Police in Weilburg have also been investigating another case in the area. On March 30, 2025, a 28-year-old man with prior convictions was arrested following an attack on a girl in Löhnberg-Obershausen. Authorities launched an investigation into sexual assault and coercion, leading to increased patrols, community awareness programmes, and improved lighting in the region.
