Teen Gang Assaults Boy, 12, in Broad-Daylight Hat Robbery Attempt
A 12-year-old boy was attacked and nearly robbed of his knit hat in Seeheim-Jugenheim on Monday afternoon (January 26, 2026). The incident took place near the Neues Rathaus tram stop, where a group of five teenagers assaulted the victim before fleeing by tram. Police are now searching for the unidentified suspects.
The attack began when the group of four boys and one girl, aged 14 to 15, threw snowballs at the victim. They then held him down and hit him in an attempt to steal his knit cap. When the robbery failed, all five suspects boarded tram line 6 toward Arheilgen to escape.
The suspects are described as between 1.60 and 1.70 metres tall. The first is slim, with dark hair down to their eyebrows, and was wearing purple sweatpants, a black winter jacket, a white top, and black athletic shoes. The second is also slim, with dark hair, dressed in blue jeans, a black jacket, and white athletic shoes. The third suspect is stocky, wearing black sweatpants, a black winter jacket, a light blue hooded sweatshirt, gray-and-white athletic shoes, and carrying a black backpack. The fourth is stocky as well, with short, gelled hair, and was dressed in black pants, a black jacket, a light-coloured top, and black athletic shoes. The fifth suspect is slim, with long black hair tied in a braid, and wore gray sweatpants with a black puffer jacket.
The suspects remain at large, and police have yet to identify them. Anyone with information about the incident or the group's whereabouts is urged to come forward. The victim was left shaken but did not require medical treatment.
