Teen arrested in Frankfurt after failed apartment break-in and bike theft

A 17-year-old was arrested in Frankfurt early on Monday, July 14, 2025. Police caught the suspect after spotting them breaking a bike lock and fleeing on a stolen bicycle. The teen now faces charges for attempted burglary and theft.

The incident began when the suspect allegedly entered an apartment through an open window. After failing to break in fully, they took a bicycle from the property. Officers later saw the teenager tampering with a bike lock before riding away on the stolen cycle.

Police moved quickly to detain the suspect. The arrest took place at around 2:15 a.m. in Frankfurt. Authorities have not released further details about the location or the apartment owner.

The suspect remains in custody on two counts: attempted burglary and bicycle theft. The case will now proceed through the legal system. No additional information about the investigation has been made public.
