A fire broke out in a semi-detached home in Schauenburg, near Kassel, leaving half of the property uninhabitable. The blaze caused significant damage, but all residents escaped without injury.

The fire started due to a technical fault, according to investigators. Police have confirmed that foul play was not involved.

The upper floor of the two-family home was completely destroyed. Despite the severity of the damage, the adjacent unit remained untouched. Authorities estimate the total property damage at around €250,000.

No injuries were reported in the incident. The affected part of the home will require extensive repairs before it can be lived in again. The cause has been officially ruled as accidental.
