Taxi Fare Dispute Turns Violent in Obertshausen

A dispute over a taxi fare in Obertshausen early Saturday morning resulted in a police operation. A passenger allegedly assaulted the driver of a yellow Mercedes taxi with the 'F' license plate, stealing cash before fleeing into a nearby residential building. The driver used pepper spray in response, also affecting another person in the vehicle.

The passenger, a 33-year-old man, is provisionally detained and under investigation for robbery. The 39-year-old taxi driver is also being investigated for grievous bodily harm. Authorities have not yet identified the assailant who attacked the driver. The stolen cash remains missing.

The incident began when the passenger was unable to pay the fare, leading to a dispute. The driver then used pepper spray, which also affected another person in the vehicle. Police are seeking witnesses who may have observed the incident.

The passenger and driver are both under investigation for their respective offenses. The stolen cash has not been recovered. Police urge any witnesses to come forward to help resolve the case.
