Summer Flight Schedule: More Planned Departures at Frankfurt Airport

Frankfurt Airport has released its summer timetable, running from 26 March to 29 October 2023. The schedule includes more flights, destinations, and seats than the previous year, though numbers still lag behind pre-pandemic peaks.

A total of 86 airlines will operate flights to 292 destinations across 92 countries. Nearly one-third of the 289,000 intercontinental seats will head to North America. Weekly seat capacity is set to rise by 16%, reaching an average of 785,000.

Departures will also increase, with 4,258 flights per week—17% more than last summer. Despite this growth, overall flight numbers remain 15% lower than the record levels seen in 2019. Bremen Airport has similarly announced its summer schedule, though specific details were not provided.

The expanded timetable reflects a steady recovery in air travel demand. Frankfurt’s weekly departures and seat capacity have grown significantly since 2022. However, operations have yet to return to 2019 levels.
